Absolute value functions

Hi its Breena and today i well be scribing for our precal class about absolute value functions

Key Terms:

Absolute value- Also called the numerical value. The magnitude of a quantity, irrespective of sign; the distance of a quantity from zero. The absolute value of a number is symbolized by two vertical lines, as |3| or |−3| is equal to 3.

Piecewise function-In mathematics , a piecewise linear function is a piecewise-defined function whose pieces are linearr
Invariant point- Unaffected by a designated operation, as a transformation of coordinates.

Absolute value equation-An absolute value
equation is an equation with an absolute value. When dealing with real numbers an absolute
value is simply the numerical value (or magnitude) of a real number
disregarding the sign. The absolute value of x (denoted |x|) represents the
distance that x is from zero on the number line.
