NEW UNIT: ALGEBRA

Heey guys this is bronson richard from your pre-cal class and what we did last class was we got 2 work sheets and we started on our new unit which is the algebra unit... we also did some work in our algebra booklets so this is basically what we did last class.

This is the
original problem.

4x2 – 2x – 5 = 0

STEP1>>Move the loose
number over to the other side.

4x2 – 2x = 5

STEP2>>Divide through by
whatever is multiplied on the squared term.

STEP3>>Take half of the coefficient (don't
forget the sign!) of the x-term,
and square it.

STEP4>>Add this square to both sides of the equation.

STEP5>>Convert the left-hand side to squared
form, and simplify the right-hand side.

(This is where you use that sign that you kept track of earlier. You plug it into the middle of the parenthetical
part.)

STEP6>>Square-root both
sides, remembering the "±" on the
right-hand side. Simplify as necessary.

AND STEP7 >>Solve for "x =".
Remember that the
"±" means that you have two values for x.

P.s i almost forgot we got our test last class which i failed -____- but i did the blog =D (with noo help from melly or jhelene -___-) but yeeah BAAAI =D
